Health care workforce development is the focus of the
o First, get youth in our region interested in health careers.
o Next, keep track while they are in school and encourage
them to return home when they have completed their
o And finally, keep rural health care providers happy, satisfied
with their jobs and engaged in learning by offering a
variety of continuing education opportunities.
These are the "3 R's" of Recruitment , Rotations and Retention .
Though Alaska's AHEC is new, we are fortunate to be operating
as part of a statewide and national network of centers. The
national network consists of 51 AHEC programs and 205 affiliated
AHEC centers across the United States.
