Mini Medical School Lecture Series
The Mini-Medical School is a community lecture series sponsored by WWAMI as an annual event, alternating between the UAA and UAF campuses, and broadcast by web streaming to the “off-site” location each year so that interested individuals can participate without the expense of travel.
The lecture series presents interesting and important aspects of healthcare service and research and is available to anyone in the community who wants to participate.
WWAMI stands for the 5-state collaborative medical school (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, and Idaho) which is accredited through the University of Washington School of Medicine. WWAMI is Alaska’s medical school, admitting 20 students each year to one of the top-rated medical schools in the country. Students can complete 3 of the 4 years of medical school curriculum in Alaska at UAA and healthcare institutions statewide.
